Icarai de Amontada is a fishing village located in the province of Ceara, in the North East of Brazil. It is more often called Icaraizinho (the small Icarai) to differentiate it from another Icarai located 20 km west of Fortaleza. Icarai de Amontada is a small corner of paradise nestled in a huge coconut grove, between rivers, dunes and lagoons, with a magnificent bay that extends its arms every day.
Here nature envelops and rocks everyday life. It is an ideal destination for ecotourism or a few days of rest away from the noises of the world or the urban jungle. We can come here to fish but we come more willingly for other reasons.
Icaraizinho is in the province of Ceara, halfway between Fortaleza and Jericoacoara.
Icaraizinho is best known for its ideal weather conditions for windsurfing and kitesurfing.
We're in the tropics. The water is warm, between 26 and 28°C all year round. Sunshine and temperatures are constant 365 days a year, between 28 and 35°C. The trade winds blow parallel to the beach and there are only a few privileged to enjoy and have fun in the bay, especially between July and February.

On site, you can also have fun in other ways. Paddle, kayak, capoeira, sandboard, various excursions on foot, horseback or buggy, and even relaxing in a hammock or by the beach are all ways to enjoy your stay in Icaraizinho.

MONEY : Euros and US Dollars can be changed quite easily but there is no bank or ATM in Icarai. And it is difficult to pay by credit card in shops or restaurants. This is a point to anticipate before your arrival: cash withdrawal at Fortaleza airport or in a larger city if Icaraizinho is a stop in your tour or stay in Brazil. Generally speaking, inform your bank of your stay in Brazil so that your card is not blocked in Brazil.
INSURANCE AND HEALTH : No vaccine is mandatory for our region. But it might have no agreement between your country Social Security and the health system in Brazil. It is therefore advisable to take out private health insurance. You can also check with Europe Assistance to see if your bank card can cover repatriation or other costs if necessary.
If you arrive at Fortaleza airport, we can arrange a taxi to Icarai de Amontada or you have the possibility to take a bus to the bus station (1 per day, departure at 14h in general).
